Let’s cut to the chase: The Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed isn't for the faint of heart, nor for those who cherish their meticulously styled hair. Serving as the first model of the ultra-exclusive Mythos series and strictly limited to 250 units, this machine ditches the roof and windscreen entirely to deliver the most visceral driving experience possible.
Instead of an A-pillar, a Formula 1-derived HALO system protects the driver and passenger, while two bespoke, aerodynamic helmets ensure you can still communicate over the roar of the AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine. Pushing out 585 horsepower, it rockets you from zero to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, making 315 km/h feel completely absurd when there's nothing between you and the elements.
However, amidst this brutal homage to legendary racing cars – complete with a shark nose inspired by the AMG ONE and "flying" buttresses nodding to the iconic 300 SLR – there is still room for sophisticated horology. Sitting proudly in the center of the dashboard is a custom-made analog clock by IWC Schaffhausen. Mounted in a glossy black, drop-shaped housing on a carbon fiber base, it appears to float, underscoring the deep-rooted partnership and shared values between the two brands.
