The 840-HP Prototype Experience
A handwritten letter from Horacio Pagani. A door normally sealed to the public. And a ride in a 1-of-1 V12 hypercar. Welcome to Grandi Complicazioni.

Featured Cars: Pagani Huayra Codalunga Coupé & Codalunga Speedster
When Pagani calls, you don’t just visit—you step directly into the inner sanctum of hypercar creation. In this exclusive deep-dive for Edition One-Off, we gain all-access entry to Pagani Grandi Complicazioni in San Cesario sul Panaro. Alongside Lorenzo, Head of Grandi Complicazioni, we witness a world first: the Huayra Codalunga Coupé and the Codalunga Speedster side by side.
From bespoke diamond-dust paint finishes to taking the passenger seat in the original 840-hp Codalunga Coupé prototype, here is what happens when classic 1960s Le Mans lines meet modern engineering perfection.
Welcome! This is the room where we meet clients when they visit headquarters to start designing their bespoke Pagani. In Grandi Complicazioni, we go beyond colors and trims: we can develop new monocoques, custom bodywork, and completely bespoke configurations. For example, look at this paint sample developed for a one-off. We worked with real diamond flakes in the clear coat, creating a sparkling, dynamic effect. A complex paint process like this can take roughly four months to complete.
That’s insane! So we can take a standard production color as a baseline, or push things to absolute extremes like diamond dust. And wow, what a surprise! The Codalunga Speedster and the Coupé side by side! I think this is the first time both cars have been displayed together in one place.
It’s extremely rare to find both prototypes together here. The Codalunga project started in 2018 when two passionate Pagani collectors asked Horacio Pagani directly for a long-tail evolution of the Huayra Coupé. We drew heavy inspiration from 1960s motorsport—specifically long-tail Le Mans racers like the Porsche 917. Our goal was ultimate simplicity: organic lines, no unnecessary splitters or massive rear wings. The body is 36 centimeters longer than a standard Huayra Coupé. To maintain high downforce without prominent wings, we integrated active aerodynamic flaps and optimized the underbody ground effect.
In the automotive world, 36 centimeters is massive! And looking at that rear clamshell—that has to be the single largest piece of carbon fiber I’ve ever seen on a road car.
It is indeed the largest single carbon fiber component we have produced to date. Underneath lies our twin-turbo V12, producing 840 horsepower and 1,100 Nm of torque in the Coupé. Next to it, the Codalunga Speedster develops 864 horsepower. Beyond removing the roof, we redesigned the bodywork, side sills, and monocoque, adding an integrated roll bar and a manual transmission setup derived from the Utopia.

The mechanical click of this fuel cap is incredibly satisfying—I wouldn’t mind filling this up every day! And that open-gated manual shifter with wood, aluminum, and exposed carbon is pure art.
I have one more surprise for you. Here is the key to the Codalunga Coupé prototype. Let's go for a drive!
We are sitting in the original Codalunga Coupé prototype—only five customer cars exist worldwide! The responsiveness is immediate. The mechanical roar of the V12 right behind your head is authentic, raw, and incredibly present in the cabin.
At just 1,200 kg, the lightweight construction makes the car feel extremely nimble and directly connected to the asphalt. Even without a massive rear wing, the venturi channels underneath generate immense aerodynamic grip while keeping the exterior silhouette clean and sculpted. Every drive in a Pagani feels as intense as the very first time!
