What happens when you take Bugatti’s most uncompromising track weapon, the Bolide, and strip away all its aggressive aerodynamic wings and louvers? You get the Bugatti Destrier. Of course, the third creation of the Programme Solitaire wasn’t that easily conceived, but rather carefully created and meticulously individualized. Either way, this masterpiece transforms raw track performance into pure, timeless elegance.
Aptly named after the powerful warhorses of medieval knights, the Destrier is a design-driven sculpture on wheels: standing just one meter tall, it is also the lowest Bugatti ever created. Emphasizing its dramatic proportions are the 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels—a significant step up from the Bolide’s 18-inch track rims. True to its roots, the shared chassis philosophy directly mirrors Bugatti's history, where the legendary Type 57 platform birthed both the Le Mans-winning Tank and the iconic Atlantic. A hand-engraved plaque above the windshield immortalizes this historical connection.
Underneath the elegant carbon-fiber skin still beats the Bolide's heart: the legendary 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine puts out a staggering 1,600 horsepower for this street-legal machine. Yet, performance is almost an afterthought here: draped in a bespoke "Sapphire Celeste" multi-layer paint with diamond-inspired pigments, it also features hammered metal finishes in the engine bay, echoing medieval armor.
Inside, the motorsport vibe is entirely replaced by a serene, haute couture atmosphere. The tailor-made cabin features warm "Ambre Voyageur" leather and nubuck, combined with a 3D-knitted textile interwoven with fine copper threads.Just like in the engine compartment, hammered metal accents adorn the door handles, air vents, and steering wheel hub.
Debuting at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on August 16, 2026, the Destrier is all about celebrating automotive beauty and unparalleled craftsmanship.
