The Swiss classic car landscape is truly a special one, and St. Moritz is undoubtedly its crown jewel. Need proof? In winter—specifically those glorious days in January —the frozen lake hosts The I.C.E., and as summer faded, the region gave way to the Bernina Gran Turismo. But while other concours meticulously park their multi-million-dollar investments behind velvet ropes, this past weekend's event was all about raw movement.
It transformed the spectacular, winding roads of the Bernina Pass into a dynamic alpine stage, proving once again that these historic machines aren't mere museum pieces, but beasts meant to be driven exactly as intended.
Beyond the roaring engines at the historic starting line in La Rösa, the 2026 Bernina Gran Turismo was heavily defined by a deep sense of community and alpine conviviality. The organizers perfectly captured this with their philosophy of "Rough Luxury"—a vibe that traded pretentious excess for authenticity, craftsmanship, and pure character.

Up at the BGT Village at Ospizio Bernina, which served as the social heart of the weekend, drivers, collectors, and enthusiasts gathered to share stories against a dramatic backdrop of glaciers and mountain lakes. It was this unique blend of relentless driving and relaxed, unpretentious socializing that cemented the recent event as one of the most distinctive and highly anticipated gatherings in the global car community.
